Devotional: We’re Separating

Being at peace with God is not automatic, because by nature we are separated from him. This separation is the “something wrong” that is at the root of our selfishness, loneliness, and dark feelings. – From the Need Him: Finding God Devotional

It makes me sad to know that its in my nature to be apart from God. It feels like my body is betraying me. I dont want to be separated from God. I want to always be in his presence, doing things that make him proud of me. So why is it so hard? One word…

God looks down from heaven

on the children of man

to see if there are any who understand,

who seek after God.

They have all fallen away;

together they have become corrupt;

there is none who does good,

not even one. (Psalm 53:2, 3 ESV)

Dont feel bad, there is not one person on this eaarth that caaan boast about eing perfect. What can you do? Pray and ask God for a change. Ask him to draw you nearer to him. Ask him for spirtutal maturity. Ask him to give you wisdom and discermnent. And most importantly ask for his forgiveness.

God, in your son Jesus’ name, i ask for your forgiveness of all of my sins, the things that have pulled me away from you. Take away that empty space and fill it with your love and holy spirit.
God,we need you today to help us draw near to you. Amen

God Bless,

  1. Amen!! It truly does hurt that our nature is to be apart from God but if we yearn to be closer to him and ask him to draw us closer to him then we will no longer have that “empty” feeling inside because he will be the one filling it… Thanks for the reminder!
