1 Thessalonians 1

Can They Tell?

Read: 1 Thessalonians 1

Key Texts: 1 Thessalonians 1:3 and 1:8

(v3.) We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

(v8.) The Lord’s message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia—your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it,

(v.3) Its amazing how this new church believed in Jesus so much that their faith made them work hard, their love made them want to do things for others and their hope gave them the endurance to stick it out in the hard times, we they were being ridiculed and going through severe suffering (v.6).

(v.8) Its an amazing testament when other people can speak out for you and on your behalf about your faith.  When they can see how the gospel and Jesus has affected your life so much they want to talk for you.  Paul said he didn’t need a report from Timothy because the surrounding places like Macedonia and Achaia were singing (not literally) their praises.

(v.3) I will allow my faith, love and hope in Jesus Christ drive my actions.

(v.8) Got to let my light shine!!!

Lord, there is so much I can learn from the church at Thessalonica, help me to be a shining light, and give me those characteristics Paul talked about. Amen
