S&L Inspiration: Nicole Blake Johson

A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother” Prov 18:24 (NIV).  I also like the NLT version ” A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother”

We all have some form of inspiration, it could be God, a pastor, parents, etc.  Today my inspiration is Nicole.  We have been friends for about four years, it was a easy friendship in the beginning but we grew to love each other and accept our faults and weaknesses.  I don’t have many friends but she is the closest thing to a best friend I have.  So why is she my inspiration?

Much to my dismay last year she moved to Shreveport, La (Where?) to pursue her career in journalism, and then she topped it off by getting married (something none of us expected).  And now she is moving to D.C. to be closer to her husband.  But that is not my reasoning for her being an inspiration.

To me Nicole is the epitome example of Faith. And stepping out on faith.  I always joke around when I say I know she has a direct connect to God but her faith is probably the reason. Whenever I’m down she picks me up,  If I do something wrong she doesn’t judge me and she never condones anything I do if it is outside the will of God, she has no problem telling me I’m wrong but most of all I know she prays for me even when I don’t pray for myself.  I Love her deeply and I am so happy for her and I know wherever she goes and whatever she does she will be successful.

Congrats Nicole
God Bless,

  1. Wow. I just read this to Troy, and we were ALMOST in tears. Emphasis on almost. I wanted to write this long comment about how much I love you, what an amazing (at times stubborn but adorable) friend you are and how I couldn't imagine life without you. But I said, nahh. Instead I will say this: thank you for being a friend…travel down the road and back again. Your heart is true. You're a pal and a confidant. Thank you for being a friend! I love you.
